Packer Dust Primer

Posted March 29, 2013

Cyberskin packerCyberskin packers like Mr. Limpy and Sailor Soft Pack are made from an elastomer material that has a slightly sticky/tacky feeling. Dusting your packer is an important step in caring for it, and it will leave it soft, smooth and friction-free. Packing dust also helps eliminate lint and dirt from gathering on the packer.

What You'll Need

1. Packer Dust
2. Make-up application brush

You can buy packer dust from a number of FTM stores, convenient dispenser included. This packer dust is generally a blend of corn starch or flour, baking soda and/or medicated powder. Here's a list of around-the-home substances that you can use instead for packing dust:

  • Baking soda: Cheap and easy to find, but can cause skin irritation for some users.
  • Packer Dust application brushCorn starch: Cheap and easy to find, can be a bit “clumpy.”
  • Potato starch, Arrowroot starch: Easy to find in the bulk section of your favorite health food store. No irritation and no clumping.

Use the makeup brush (or a paint brush) to apply some dust on the packer and disperse with the brush. Note: A little goes a long way! Be sure to get the powder into the creases in the scrotum and under the shaft, as well as the back of the balls.

Re-apply daily. If you're involved in sports or are otherwise sweating a lot, you'll probably need to dust more than once a day.
